For the last Wednesday Resource maintaining the theme of creating a prayer culture in our homes let me share the missions organization Every Home for Christ with you. Every Home for Christ is an international missions organization dedicated to the Great Commission. We believe that Jesus tasked us—His Church—to reach all people in every nation with the Gospel and to disciple them in His ways. Since 1946, Every Home for Christ has remained on a steady committed course toward this vision. In over 130 nations, we are actively equipping the local church to reach the lost with the Gospel and make disciples. The strategy is simple: Everybody lives somewhere, so just go where people live and systematically share the Gospel home to home. The results are incredible. In the last 5 years alone, we have reached over 400 million homes and followed-up to disciple over 70 million people who have responded to the Gospel.
You might be asking right now what does the mission organization Every Home for Christ have to do with creating a culture of prayer in our home? Well I am sure glad you asked. As a supporter of EHC they send me bi-monthly newsletters that include a daily prayer guide. Here is the most recent one I received for February 2019. Excuse my camera phone picture but you get the point. Ours is pinned to the wall allowing a pass-by stop and moment of prayer for the request of the day.
Every Home for Christ is committed to the Prayer movement as the foundation of evangelism and discipleship. From their website:
“We believe prayer is essential to reaching every home on earth with the Gospel. We have seen time and again that the degree to which we mobilize prayer is the degree to which our evangelism efforts grow and are fruitful. Thus, before a single Gospel message is put into the hands of any individual—before evangelism teams approach a single home—the work begins and continues with a commitment to prayer.
Concerted prayer covers every step, from training to outreach to discipleship. Some hold targeted prayer meetings while others prayer walk strategic locations, always praying that barriers to the Gospel will be removed, hearts will be prepared and many will respond to the gospel message.
This commitment to prayer crosses international boundaries. At Every Home for Christ’s international headquarters, the staff gathers to pray over these global initiatives each day, asking God to open doors in countries that are closed to His Word, to open minds to receive the Gospel and to protect Every Home for Christ workers around the world.
In the past decade, as Every Home for Christ has committed to continual prayer at the Jericho Center, there has been an incredible increase in the number of homes reached, responses to the Gospel and the number of Christ Groups planted.
As we close out our Wednesday Resources covering the theme of creating a culture of prayer in our homes let me encourage you to connect with EHC, Get their newsletter, get their monthly prayer guide, put it on your wall or on your fridge and take a moment each day to pray for their needs. Encourage your children to see beyond the small sphere they live in and encourage them to pray for the EHC regions and needs.
