Mosaic

Posted on July 22, 2018July 22, 2018 by Carl Van Vliet
This last weekend at the monthly men’s breakfast (The Church at Pleasant Ridge men’s prayer breakfast) men were sharing different prayer requests and discussing things happening in our lives. As we began to pray I sensed the Lord begin to say “I am building a mosaic” I have been pondering that word for the last few days.
A mosaic is defined as
mo·sa·ic
mōˈzāik
noun
  1. 1. a picture or pattern produced by arranging together small colored pieces of hard material, such as stone, tile, or glass.
Mosaics in the historical context were made from broken pieces of colored glass or broken shards of pottery. Artists would create beautiful pieces of art out of broken pieces of pottery, broken glass, chips of rock or stone. Isn’t that just like our Abba, creating beauty out of our brokenness.

Now imagine the context of God releasing this word, “I’m building a mosaic” in the midst of a group of men fellowshiping, sharing, being vulnerable and praying together. I see God creating something beautiful,

manly and powerful. I see Papa creating something like this a spartan warrior out of men who will link arms, share life, be vulnerable and pray. Yes God is doing something amazing. Your invited. Be a part, find your place in community and link arms.
